If her deadline to respond was the 28th August, and she accepted the charges, why did her suspension not fall last weekend for City's game on the 29th August instead of this weekend?

The full report of the incident makes for some interesting reading: http://www.thefa.com/news/governance/2015/sep/nikita-parris-050915

And as as per usual the justification for the punishment makes no sense. They decided that a one-match ban was too lenient and wanted to double it -- but then they ultimately decided not to because she had the decency to admit that she purposely went to confront the referee even though the same panel criticised her for not giving a full account of the nature of what she did. She got charged for the language which she didn't admit to using; how does that make her worthy of a more lenient punishment? And her supposed clean record also worked in her favour even though she doesn't have a clean record after previously being given a straight red for dissent at the referee. They really do pull this stuff out of their backside.
