The 26-year-old forward joins the club from Vittsjo GIK, and has previously featured for Glasgow City and Paisley Saints.

After helping the Scottish outfit to six league titles, three Scottish Cups, three League Cups and a place in the last 16 of the Champions League - as well as scooping the Player of the Season Award in her debut campaign - she made the decision to turn professional in 2013 and made the move to Sweden, where she netted 51 goals in 82 games.

Having tasted success before, Ross is hoping to add to her collection of medals withNick Cushing's side.

She told mcfc.co.uk: "I'm really pleased and excited to be spending the next two years at the Club.

"I've really enjoyed my time over in Sweden. It was a challenging league, which I enjoyed. It was obviously a lot different to the Scottish league; it was more physical and higher tempo matches."I think it's going to be similar here in England. It's going to be different again but a very high standard.

"The team came second in the FA Women's Super League and have got Champions League football next season. I'm really looking forward to coming in and meeting everyone."

A prolific striker, Ross received her first call-up to the Scotland under-19s squad at the age of just 16 and has represented her country at senior level since 2009, scoring 38 goals in 88 appearances.

She bagged a brace in the recent 7-0 Euro 2017 qualifier victory over Belarus and netted 13 goals in her side's 2015 World Cup qualifying campaign, becoming the joint second-highest goalscorer in Europe.

In making the move to Manchester, Ross follows in the footsteps of Scotland teammate Jennifer Beattie, who signed from Montpellier in the winter of 2014 and has since encouraged her compatriot to join her.

Ross explained: "I spoke to Jennifer Beattie before I signed and she only had positive things to say about the Club. She's really enjoying her time here and it'll be nice to have a friendly face around.

"Everything at the Club is really impressive - the facilities, the support, the staff... I'm excited to get to work."

Admired for her strength, control and technique, Ross is also quick and able to shoot with both feet.

Aside from her footballing career, she also studied at the University of Stirling on a scholarship but deferred her Master of Philosophy degree to concentrate on her sporting ventures.

Reflecting on the latest addition to his squad, manager Cushing was delighted. He stated: "We're really happy to have brought Jane in.

"She has unbelievable drive and professionalism. She has goals she wants to achieve and with this Club now playing in the Champions League and establishing itself as one of the best teams in the WSL, we fit with her ambition.

"We want more goals in the team and we want to be even better than last season - Jane will add some real firepower and a different dimension.

"I've watched her a few times internationally and domestically and she always wants to improve and she always wants to win - that's what we want.

"Our team are the same and we're really pleased to have made the move happen."
